Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently spoke on the importance of conducting caste census for the Muslim community for their empowerment in the state. The CM said the Congress and the Opposition alliance should not only focus on Hindu caste, but also require similar census for the Muslims.
Speaking at an event, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Hindus are our brothers, but Muslims are elder brothers. It is crucial for them to be strong. We are one; we have two brothers – Hindu and Muslim.”
Additionally, Sarma also mentioned about the upcoming action against polygamy, scheduled to be passed on February 4, 2024.
