Byatikram MASDO’s International Writers Meet 2024 boosts literary and cultural exchange in Guwahati

The Byatikram International Writers Meet 2024, organized by Byatikram MASDO, concluded successfully in Guwahati, marking a significant milestone in the cultural and literary landscape of Northeast India. Held from November 22 to 25, the event attracted a diverse range of global and Indian literary figures, reinforcing the region’s growing stature in the international literary community.

The event featured an impressive lineup of international authors, including Tendo Taijin (Japan), Alexandra Nicod (Switzerland), MiodragJaksic (Serbia), and Jorge Contreras Herrera (Mexico), alongside prominent Indian writers such as Dr. Reshma Ramesh, Ashok Chakraborty, and Bijay Shankar Sur. The inaugural session at Aurus Mall was graced by dignitaries like Dr. Rita Chowdhury and Shankar LallGoenka, who presented awards to the international participants.

The event also showcased cultural performances and local poetry readings, enhancing the literary atmosphere. Highlights included the launch of seven books by Prof. Jiban Nath and Bijay Shankar Sur at Cotton University, as well as dance performances celebrating Assam’s heritage. With strong participation from local and international communities, the meet left a lasting impression, positioning Guwahati as a key hub for literary and cultural exchange. The event culminated with a farewell dinner at Hotel Landmark, Guwahati.
