Byatikram MASDO organized a significant event titled “Ensuring Safety of Women: A Call to Action” at NEDFi Hall, with a focus on empowering women and addressing safety concerns. The event paid tribute to the late Bandana Baruah, a renowned social worker dedicated to women’s safety, and featured prominent corporate and social leaders.
Smt. Krishna Baruah, Deputy Commissioner of Baksa, honored her mother’s contributions, while Byatikram MASDO advisor Manisha Hazarika announced a new annual award in Baruah’s name, recognizing contributions to social causes.
The event brought together key figures, including entrepreneur Dr. Dinesh Sahara and film producer Sam Bhattacharjee, who launched a “Sikar” t-shirt to promote women’s safety. Panel discussions featured leading voices from diverse sectors, such as actress Nishita Goswami, journalist Snigdhashikha Borah, and health expert Indrani Laskar, who shared strategies for advancing women’s empowerment.
Byatikram MASDO President Dr. Saumen Bharatiya stressed the importance of confidence and self-reliance for women, urging for equality in societal progress. Supported by the Assam State AIDS Control Society and Dinesh Shahra Foundation, the event emphasized the need for sustained corporate and societal efforts to create safe environments for women across all sectors.
