The Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura has detained nine Bangladeshi nationals from different areas of the state during a series of operations aimed at curbing illegal border crossings.
On Saturday, a BSF official revealed that four Bangladeshi nationals, including three men and one woman, were apprehended near the Border Out Post (BOP) Shyampara in Sabroom, South Tripura, while attempting to cross the border fence. All four are residents of Chattogram District, Bangladesh.
In a separate operation near BOP Anandpur, Sonamura, Sepahijala District, another Bangladeshi national from Dhaka was caught with 3,600 Taka and Rs. 3,000 in Indian currency. Additionally, two illegal immigrants from Dhaka and Cumilla were detained in Dharmanagar and Sabroom with Rs. 5,540 in Indian currency.
