Bold changes for a flourishing Arunachal Pradesh are unveiled by CM Pema Khandu

Chief Minister Pema Khandu told the Assembly that the Arunachal Pradesh government has started important reforms in a number of areas to move the state closer to greater development.

Khandu, who took part in the motion of gratitude for the governor’s speech, stated that the speech mirrored the government’s vision and provided a long-term plan for creating a “Vikshit Arunachal” by 2047. Commencing the five-day budget session on March 6, Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik gave his usual speech. “The progress that Arunachal has seen over the last nine years is the outcome of stakeholders and legislators working together in the spirit of ‘Team Arunachal.'” “With dedication and a pure ideology, nothing is impossible,” Khandu said.

He highlighted accomplishments, pointing to the Jal Jeevan Mission’s 251% growth in rural roads, 143% increase in highways, and 100% water supply saturation, all of which were accomplished well ahead of the national goal. Khandu stated that the government implemented a number of social programs for the younger generation after announcing 2024–25 as the “Year of Youth.” “Our young people are gifted, but they require assistance to succeed. The Arunachal Pradesh Scheme for Scholarship Excellence, which the state government launched, guarantees full financial aid to students who are accepted into prestigious universities like IITs and IIMs, he said.
