The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura has expressed strong confidence in securing a decisive victory in the ongoing Panchayat elections, attributing their anticipated success to the party’s sterling performance over the past five years.
The three-tier Panchayat elections cover 2,102 seats, including 1,819 Gram Panchayat seats, 188 Panchayat Samiti seats, and 95 Zila Parishad seats. BJP General Secretary Amit Rakshit, speaking at a press conference, revealed that the party had already secured over 71% of the seats uncontested. “Today, in some seats, elections were held. So far, the process has been peaceful, with voters participating in a festive atmosphere,” said Rakshit, emphasizing the smooth conduct of the election.
Pradesh BJP spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty echoed these sentiments, praising the state’s democracy-loving people for casting their votes without issues. “I want to thank the people of Tripura for their enthusiastic participation. From North to South, the election was peaceful, and BJP workers played a crucial role in encouraging voter turnout,” said Chakraborty. He further asserted that the BJP’s victory is inevitable, as the party’s efforts over the past five years have resonated with voters. “There is no doubt that the BJP will win in all the seats,” he added.
