Bhalukpong hosts finale of NCC white water rafting course

The White Water Rafting Course conducted by 2 AP Battalion NCC, Tawang, in coordination with the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports (NIMAS), Dirang, culminated at the Kameng River in Bhalukpong recently.

The Group Commander of NCC Group Headquarters, Tezpur, visited the camp. He reviewed the training of cadets, appreciated their spirit, and highlighted the role of adventure activities in building confidence, resilience, and team spirit.

A total of 50 NCC cadets of the NER Directorate successfully completed the 10-day intensive course conducted.

During the course, cadets underwent rigorous training in whitewater rafting, including handling of rafting equipment, river navigation techniques, safety procedures, rescue drills, and identification of river hazards.

The training was imparted by experienced instructors from NIMAS, ensuring a high standard of professionalism and safety.

In addition to rafting activities, the cadets participated in a short trek to Phinjuli and visited the Tippi Orchid Research Centre, gaining valuable insights into the region’s biodiversity.

The course provided a unique platform for the cadets to develop confidence, leadership, teamwork, and resilience, while fostering a spirit of adventure and environmental awareness.
