A 23-yr-old woman’s loss of life due to electrocution after slipping on a waterlogged street in rain-hit Bengaluru has brought on outrage, with many questioning the Karnataka authorities for mismanagement and negligence.
The deceased, identified as Akhila, by chance got here in contact with a live electric pole close to the Whitefield place in the city, when she was returning home on her scooty on Monday night.
Akhila got off her scooty near Mayura Bakery where a stretch of the road was once waterlogged. While towing the two-wheeler via the knee-deep water, she lost her balance. She tried to right herself by using grabbing onto an electric pole, but got electrocuted.
The victim used to be rushed to a hospital, the place medical doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Akhila’s household contributors have blamed negligence through civic authorities and the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) for her death.
