Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will begin her visit to India from the highly revered Nizamuddin Dargah here on September 5. The holy Sufi shrine has been an important pilgrimage web page for both Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for more than half a century. During the visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to meet Syed Basit Nizami, who is the successor of Sajjada Nashin or a Sufi Gras who is the zimmadar or trustee of the shrine.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman used to visit his grandfather Syed Mohammad Mia Nizami and Sheikh Hasina used to visit her father Kabir Uddin Nizami.
