The national youth exposure program, which is being held in the Tawang area of Arunachal Pradesh from April 27 to April 30, is involving 66 young participants and more than 10 officials from Meghalaya. The event, which is being organised by the Meghalaya Sports and Youth Affairs Directorate in partnership with the Arunachal Pradesh Youth Affairs Department, intends to foster youth personal development, cultural interchange, and national integration. In a ceremony attended by Deputy Commissioner Kanki Darang, the program was formally launched at Tawang on Monday morning.
Dr. D W Thongon, the Tawang police superintendent, and Meghalaya’s youth coordinator were also in attendance. Bobby Wahlong, Sange Tsering, the district sports officer, Satrughan Gungli, the event’s assistant nodal officer, and other dignitaries. The unique cultural fabric of Arunachal Pradesh, which is home to 26 major tribes and more than 100 sub-tribes living in harmony, was highlighted by the DC in his speech. He emphasised the idea of unity in variety and urged the participants to embrace honesty and hard effort in order to become responsible citizens who make valuable contributions to society.
He urged attendees to enjoy Meghalaya’s hospitality in the future and thanked the governments of Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh for their support of the project. Participants from Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh, including NSS volunteers from Dorjee Khandu Government College, Tawang, and members of the Nehru Yuva Kendra, also gave lively cultural performances during the inaugural event. The Garo, Khasi, and Monpa tribes’ traditional songs and dances were performed, bringing vibrancy and colour to the occasion.
