Director General Lt Gen P.C Nair says that Assam Rifles has rescued people of both communities in Manipur, and the force has never been biased towards the communities in Manipur.
According to the sources, the statement came after Meitei community in Manipur held a protest against Assam Rifles removal for their state and accused the force for being biased and favoring Kuki community.
The Assam Rifles Chief said, “We are not biased and I want to make that absolutely clear. If we see bunkers we destroy them. The weapons we recovered from both the communities are equal; the number of people that we have helped from both the communities is also equal.”
He also informed about the present scenario of the situation in Manipur that the region Northeast is heading towards better place in times.
