Assam Government shuts 34 schools with zero pass percentage in 10th Results

The Assam government has decided to close a total of 34 schools where all the 10th-class students have failed the 2022 HSLC examination.

Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has announced that these schools will be closed but students of these schools will be given the opportunity to enroll in other schools.

The crackdown comes after one in a thousand students in state-run schools failed to clear the Class 10 board exams.

According to the report, the education minister said that investing taxpayers’ money in such schools “doesn’t make sense”.

Pegu added “The government cannot afford to spend public money on schools with a zero-achievement record,”.

SEBA declared HSLC result 2022 for class 10 on 7th June. The overall pass rate this year was recorded at 56.49 percent, the lowest since 2018.
