Assam district administrative offices opens space for children

District Commissioner’s office, Kokrajhar has opened space for children to accompany their mothers during work hours.

“Women employees with children raised issues related to childcare in a staff meeting, with no or minimal support at home. This gave rise to the idea of ​​a children’s room in the office premises,” said Varnali Deka, deputy commissioner of Kokrajhar.

According to the sources, an old unused room was renovated into a colorful room for children there. The commissioner also said this room will be developed eventually more with playthings, books, new ideas according to children’s mindset etc.

Bodoland Territorial Region Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro inaugurated the room on February 15.
