Assam CM speaks on decreasing crime rate in Assam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has recently reported about Assam has witnessed a decrease of crime rate for 2023. The report said, the first eight months of this year, the state registered nearly 1,400 cases of murder, rape and dacoity.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has credited ‘proactive government measures’ for the improvement in the state, Assam.

Sarma shared the data on X saying, “Our commitment to make Assam a crime-free state is moving positively in the right direction.”

 He also said that the drop in crime rate was possible due to police patrolling, increased efficiency in crime management, the use of forensic techniques, strengthened coordination between the public and law enforcement.
