Assam CM attends Arunachal Pradesh’s Mopin Festival

The Galo community is celebrating their traditional holiday, Mopin, in Aalo, West Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh, and preparations are hectic. To celebrate the festival, the Central Mopin Celebration Committee is putting the finishing touches on the event. The main guest for the festival on Saturday is Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was asked by the organizers to further deepen the cultural links between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh for this occasion. The honored guest will be Pema Khandu, Sarma’s counterpart from Arunachal.

On the festive occasion of the Mopin Festival, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. Gen. KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd), has sent his warmest regards to the state’s citizens, particularly the Galo community. He hoped that everyone would experience happiness, success, and peace as a result of the colorful celebration. One of Arunachal Pradesh’s most beloved and vibrant celebrations, Mopin highlights the rich cultural legacy of the Galo people. It has been essential in maintaining the community’s treasured traditions and values because of its longstanding customs and joyous atmosphere. I have no doubt that this ethno-traditional festival will support the tribe’s esteemed way of life and further its socioeconomic development,” he stated.

“I join my Galo brethren in praying to Donyi Polo and Ane Mopin as we gather in celebration, asking for their divine blessings for everyone’s prosperity and well-being,” the governor stated in his message.
