Arunachal unveils a new tourism logo and policy to increase visitor engagement

Arunachal Pradesh has launched a new logo and strategy, marking the beginning of a revolutionary journey to improve its tourism business. Presided over by Pasang Dorjee Sona, the state’s minister of tourism, the launch event took place at the Shangri-La Eros Hotel in New Delhi. The theme of the rebranding initiative, “Arunachal: Beyond Myths and Mountains,” encapsulates the state’s goal to highlight its many attractions above and beyond its widely recognized natural beauty. The new logo portrays Arunachal Pradesh as the “Land of the Dawn-lit Mountains” by featuring a stylized image of turquoise mountains capped by an orange arc that symbolizes the rising sun.

Key actors in the tourist sector convened at the inauguration event to discuss a strategic master plan for the growth of the business in this northeastern state. Minister Sona emphasized the goal of developing culturally diverse and sustainable tourism experiences that will benefit local populations while also protecting the area’s distinctive legacy. The goal of the new policy is to make Arunachal Pradesh a popular travel destination for travelers who wish to take in the state’s rich cultural heritage and scenic beauty. To put the state on the global tourism map, the government has set lofty targets, hoping to double domestic visitor numbers and increase foreign visitor arrivals by ten times.
