Arunachal showcases organic strength at Thaifex Asia 2025

A high-level delegation from Arunachal Pradesh is participating in Thaifex Anuga Asia 2025, one of the premier food and beverage trade exhibitions in Southeast Asia, held in Bangkok, Thailand. The visit aims to strengthen the state’s presence in the ASEAN market, promote its unique agri-horticultural products, and explore avenues for trade, investment, and technology collaboration. Led by Trade and Commerce Minister Nyato Dukam, the Arunachal delegation includes MLA Dr Mohesh Chai, Commissioner Saugat Biswas, and other senior government officials. Their visit is being supported by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), which is facilitating key interactions with industry leaders and foreign trade representatives. The delegation received a warm welcome from India’s Ambassador to Thailand, Nagesh Singh, who urged the team to actively engage with Thai businesses and explore collaborative opportunities, particularly in areas like organic farming, value-added processing, and technology transfer.

Arunachal Pradesh is promoting its signature agro-products including kiwi, mandarin oranges, large cardamom, and fruit wines, which have gained attention for their organic origins and export potential. These products were prominently displayed at the Arunachal Pradesh stall, which was officially inaugurated by Minister Dukam. The stall attracted significant interest from international buyers, food processors, and trade representatives from various ASEAN nations. Speaking at the event, Dr Rajeev Singh, Director General of the ICC, stressed that Thaifex Anuga Asia presents a “strategic gateway” for Arunachal Pradesh to connect with high-demand markets in Southeast Asia and build sustainable trade partnerships. He added that the exhibition is an important platform for positioning Arunachal as a rising player in India’s food processing and agri-export sectors.

Among the Indian brands representing Arunachal Pradesh at the trade fair were Norphel Wines, Green Gold Integrated Farm, Neuli Enterprise, and Cakes and Bakes. These brands showcased a wide range of products—from artisanal fruit wines to organically cultivated fruits and packaged goods—reflecting the growing capabilities of the state’s food industry. Discussions during the visit also explored possibilities for technology tie-ups with Thai companies, particularly those operating food processing units in Bangkok. Delegation members visited local facilities and held meetings to understand how advanced processing and value addition techniques could be adapted in Arunachal to enhance quality and export readiness.
