Arunachal Pradesh Governor calls ITBP to support the development of border areas

Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik, the governor of Arunachal Pradesh, requested on Thursday that the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) work together to enhance the state’s border regions, especially through the Vibrant Border Village initiative. The governor underlined that such initiatives will serve the national interest while helping both local people and the police force during a meeting at Raj Bhawan here with Amitabh Gupta, the Inspector General of North East Frontier Headquarters for ITBP.

According to an official announcement, Gupta, who just assumed leadership of the NE Frontier headquarters, paid the governor a courtesy call. The lively village initiative, border security, and other state-related matters were among the many subjects they discussed. Based on his background in border control, the governor suggested that the IG aggressively engage local populations.

In order to preserve border security, he also emphasized the significance of consistent training, exercises, and effective patrolling. Parnaik commended the ITBP for its excellent work in Arunachal Pradesh and asked it to encourage the enlistment of young people from the area in the military. He also asked the ITBP to guarantee prompt humanitarian assistance in the event of emergencies in the border areas. Gupta responded by promising the governor that the issues will be resolved quickly.
