Arunachal govt announces free UPSC coaching and financial incentives

Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona announced that the state government is offering free coaching for UPSC aspirants from tribal communities through a New Delhi-based institute. During an Assembly session, he elaborated on various supportive measures for candidates in civil services exams. The government provides substantial financial incentives: Rs 2 lakh for those who clear the preliminary examination and Rs 3 lakh for those who qualify in the mains examination. Furthermore, candidates passing other national-level examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, such as NDA, CDS, Indian Forest Service, and Indian Engineering Service, are also eligible for the one-time financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh.

Additionally, tribal students who gain admission to prestigious institutions like IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, and National Law Universities receive similar one-time assistance of Rs 2 lakh. Sona highlighted that the government has established career counseling facilities across all colleges in the state and initiated language enhancement courses for tribal students in partnership with the British Council of India. These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to support and uplift tribal communities in the education sector.
