Arunachal: Forest fire erupts close to Sigar Military Station in East Siang

A large forest fire near the Sigar military station in East Siang district poses a threat to local defense installations, with no reported casualties yet. The fire started on Saturday in a nearby forest, prompting responses from both the district administration and the Indian Army. Firefighting efforts are hindered by rugged terrain and dense vegetation, leading the state government to request aerial support from the Indian Air Force. An IAF helicopter began operations on Sunday, using water from the Siang River, but these were temporarily halted for operational reasons. Ground-based firefighting efforts continue to control the flames and prevent further spreading.
