Arjun Kapoor revealed, “I never wanted to be an actor, always wanted to be a director”

In a chat with Free Press Journal, Arjun declared, “I became an actor, so I can be a director. I always wanted to be a director and never had the inclination to be an actor.”

The Gunday actor also hinted at what he will do after turning director. “Behind the camera, the directors put so much pressure on me, which will help me in my direction,” he said. “They gave me such big crocs and let me fly. I learned one important thing: whatever you do, you have to do it with conviction.”

Returning to Kuttey, the directorial debut of Asman Bharadwaj also stars Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Konkana Sen Sharma, Radhika Madan, Kumud Mishra and Shardul Bharadwaj. Besides being the music composer, Vishal Bharadwaj produced the film and Gulzar penned the lyrics.

Arjun shared the screen with Naseeruddin Shah for the second time after Finding Fanny. “Naseer Sab worked with father (Boney Kapoor) and Anil Chachu (Anil Kapoor). In Finding Fanny, we were sharing the front seats of the film. We talked so much that we were very comfortable. He was always very kind to me,” said the actor.
