Antaran, a pioneering initiative within Tata Trusts’ craft-based livelihood program is set to mesmerize the city of Guwahati with its latest exhibition. Dedicated to celebrating the rich weaving traditions from four distinct craft clusters – Kamrup, Nalbari, Nagaland, and Gopalpur (Odisha) – this showcase promises a captivating exploration of handwoven textiles steeped in cultural heritage and craftsmanship.
Scheduled from the 14th to the 16th and the 19th to the 20th of March 2024, the event invites attendees to immerse themselves in the intricate world of Indian crafts. Held at the Satyanath Bora Hall and NEDFI Centre, the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to engage with artisans, gaining insights into centuries-old traditions and cultural customs.
Visitors can look forward to enlightening conversations with talented artisans, witnessing fascinating loin loom demonstrations, and delving into the delicate craft of hand-spinning Eri silk. Each aspect of the exhibition showcases the indomitable spirit of the region’s artisans and their dedication to preserving traditional crafts.
