Ambuja Cements, the 9th largest building materials solutions provider globally and part of the diversified Adani Portfolio, along with the Adani Foundation, has strengthened access to early education support for children in Chotolokhindong village, Umrangso. The initiative addressed barriers faced by students from economically vulnerable families who lacked basic school essentials, impacting their attendance and confidence.
Mirso Ronghangpi, a nursery student and daughter of Babu Ronghang and Samily Beypi, had been irregular in school as her family found it difficult to afford a school bag, shoes and basic learning materials. Without these essentials, she often stayed at home, feeling discouraged and left behind in her early learning journey.
Recognizing such needs, Ambuja Cements along with the Adani Foundation distributed 65 educational kits across four government schools. The kits included school bags, shoes, painting kits and pencil boxes to ensure children had the necessary tools to attend school with dignity. With access to these essentials, Mirso is now regular in her classes, participates actively and displays a positive attitude towards learning, reinforcing Ambuja Cements’ commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable education in rural communities.
