Amazon’s storage capacity expanded

In West Bengal, Amazon India launched a new Fulfilment Centre (FC). It is the largest in the state. This expansion will help the 25,000 sellers in West Bengal offer a wider selection and enable faster deliveries within West Bengal and North-eastern states. Akhil Saxena, VP, Customer Fulfilment Operations, APAC, MENA & LATAM, Amazon said, West Bengal is a very important market for Amazon as its strategic location enables the company to better serve customers in West Bengal and neighbouring North-eastern states. With this expansion Amazon will be able to support small & medium businesses while creating hundreds of work opportunities for locals in the region.

Amazon also supports local entrepreneurs and businesses with programs that enable part-time and full-time delivery opportunities. Amazon India has thousands of Flex partners and ‘I Have Space’ stores as well as more than 85 Amazon-owned and Delivery Service Partners stations, in West Bengal. The expansion in West Bengal is a part of the company’s plans announced in July to add 10 new Fulfilment Centres and expand 7 existing sites.
