Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga’s Ashi Singh and Tera Yaar Hoon Main’s Ssudeep Sahir share Diwali plans
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of people across the globe, but it hasn’t dampened their festive spirit. Like common people, even celebrities gear up to celebrate the festival of Diwali with all the enthusiasm. Tera Yaar Hoon Main’s Ssudeep Sahir and Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga’s Ashi Singh share how they plan to celebrate the festival keep social distancing and safety in mind.
Ssudeep shares, “While I am from Delhi, I make sure that I am in Mumbai for Diwali and celebrate the festival at my house here, as I believe that you belong where your work is. Diwali is a very closed family affair for us. We make sure we are all dressed up in new clothes in the evening for Puja and don’t step out of our house after the Diwali Puja. So, this will remain the same this year as well. During the day, we are usually out distributing gifts to friends and family, but this will change this year keeping in mind the social distancing norms. We might limit that and visit only close family members. I am glad I get to celebrate the festival with my family and would request others to spend time with their families too as festivals are what bring us together.”
On the other hand, Ashi Singh aka Yasmine is all excited for the festival and shares, “I am always very excited for Diwali, so I get up early and help my mother in preparing all the mouth-watering dishes and also make rangoli for the house. What I get most excited about is a ritual of elders giving younger ones some amount of money as a blessing. This is my favourite part of Diwali since childhood (laughs).”
The actress has already bought her Diwali outfit in advance and talks about how she plans to decorate her house, “I get very excited about shopping and I purchased my Diwali dress well in advance. However, for decorating my house this year, I am going to use my creativity and do some DIY for the decoration.”
However, Ashi is little upset as she will not get a chance to meet her friend because of the pandemic and safety reasons, “I am a little upset with the fact that I will not get to meet most of my friends, which I usually do on Diwali because gathering in groups is not a good option this year. However, my main aim for Diwali this year is to stay happy and keep those around me happy.”
