Aizawl’s LPG home delivery service expansion to cover more areas in 2025

Mizoram is set to expand its LPG home delivery services across Aizawl starting January 2025, following a meeting held by the Aizawl District Consumer Protection Council, led by Deputy Commissioner Lalhriatpuia, at the DC Conference Hall. The focus of the meeting was to discuss government-supported initiatives aimed at enhancing the distribution of LPG through direct home deliveries, ensuring wider access across the city. A significant achievement was shared by Zothan Indane Agency, which reported the successful completion of 100% LPG home delivery in all areas under its jurisdiction, setting a benchmark for other distributors in the region.

In a bid to improve accessibility, LPG distributors operating within the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) area will be expanding their services to include two additional localities, ensuring comprehensive city-wide coverage. This expansion will also allow residents in previously underserved areas to book LPG deliveries, with gas agencies committed to meeting delivery timelines. To ensure the successful execution of this expansion, a Monitoring Committee has been formed under the leadership of Additional DC P.C. Zonuntluangi. The committee will oversee that gas agencies comply with efficiency and quality standards.

The meeting saw participation from representatives of LPG gas agencies, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), the Mizoram Consumer Union (MCU), the Young Mizo Association (CYMA), and officials from the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department, all working together to ensure the smooth rollout of these services.
