Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu inaugurated the fourth Tripura Fish Festival at Agartala Children’s Park, organized by the state fisheries department to promote aquaculture and enhance fish farming participation. He urged fish farmers to implement scientific practices to increase production and profitability, while also encouraging participation in national exhibitions for broader exposure. Nallu emphasized the necessity for training opportunities outside the state to learn advanced aquaculture methods and requested the fisheries department to ensure access to insurance and institutional credit for fish farmers. He stressed the importance of preparing effective plans to achieve self-reliance in fish production. State Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das highlighted government initiatives aimed at self-sufficiency in fish production, including the introduction of a state fisheries policy to promote the sector. He encouraged the youth to engage in fish farming for economic self-reliance. Attendees included local MLAs and fisheries officials.
