On Thursday, a youth from Cachar district was arrested for posting an offensive video of a minor girl on social media.
The name of the accused is Ubaid Mehedi, a resident of Kanishail area of Karimganj district.
According to sources, Ubaid and the girl developed a relationship through Facebook and the boy introduced himself as Rahul. He allegedly recorded videos of the girl while the two were in a relationship.
Later, when the girl wanted to end the relationship, the accused posted all the videos of the girl on social media.
However, the police could not arrest the accused as he was out of the country. But the youth was taken into custody as soon as the police informed him of his return to India.
