A ‘LEAP’of a Lifetime with Tata Motors

Tata Motors LEAP (Learn Earn and Progress Programme) has been a success for the past decade, providing sustainable livelihoods to unskilled youths from disadvantaged sections of society. The program, run under the Public-Private-Partnership Model, has grown from two institutes in 2013 to 60 institutes by 2022, with 1500 youth trained annually. The 12-month program, which focuses on inclusivity, has trained underprivileged youth from rural, urban, and semi-urban localities, dropping out of school.

Vinod Kulkarni, Tata Motors’ Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, believes that LEAP transcends a skills program and qualifies as a transformative program, shaping the future of attendees into successful success stories.

Tata Motors serves as a knowledge partner, providing training content, while Industrial Training Institutes provide infrastructure. Dealers and TASSs provide on-job training and stipends. The program has achieved an average placement rate of 85% in the past decade, with an increasing number of women enrolling and diversity growing to 13%. LEAP remains agile, embracing new technologies and entrepreneurial modules to adapt to dynamic market demands. It exemplifies Tata Motors’ commitment to empower, innovate, and build a brighter tomorrow for all.
