3rd Digital Economy Working Group Meeting organised in Pune

The 3rd Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) meeting concluded on 14 June 2023 in Pune. It saw deliberations on digital security, cyber security, securing Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), and the digital economy. 10 discussion sessions on DPI were organized, with 60 global experts sharing their views. Attendees included 300 senior delegates, 150 foreign delegates, and international organizations.

The last day of the meeting saw 4 sessions focused on digital skilling and security, as well as a presentation on the Toolkit for Cyber Awareness. India’s initiatives such as COWIN, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System, and Soil Health Card were showcased. The meeting also focused on drafting the manifesto, which will be finalized in the 4th Working Group Meeting in Bengaluru in August 2023.

 The G-20 meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Electronics and IT, the National e-Governance Division, and the Government of Maharashtra. A cultural program was organized by the Government of Maharashtra at Savitribai Phule Pune University, where foreign delegates were mesmerized by authentic Maratha games of Mallakhamb and Dandapatta, as well as a classical dance performance. The foreign guests were also captivated by the classical dance performance.
