2X8 MVA, 33/KV substations inaugurated at Dharmanagar & Kumarghat

Hon’ble Deputy Chief of Tripura, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma has inaugurated 2X8 MVA, 33/KV substations as part of AzadikaAmritMahotsav, at Dharmanagar & Kumarghat districts of North Tripura on 21st August 2021. This project will help in the load shedding and AT&C losses will be reduced thereby benefiting the people of Tripura.

The event was attended by Shri Biswa Bandhu Sen, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker, Tripura Legislative Assembly, and other state government dignitaries. The implementation of the projects will increase the revenue of the utility. The inauguration started with the presentation of a cultural song and dance by the local artists which was followed by a Painting competition for school children on the theme ’75 Years of India’s Independence’ under the SoP of COVID 19 regulations.  

The total Project cost of Dharmanagar is Rs7.18 Cr. The total beneficiaries are 11287 whereas the total Project cost of Kumarghat substation is Rs 7.09 Cr and it will impact 8897 people and their families. It is pertinent to note that Government of India through Ministry of Power provides 85% of the total project cost.
