Two people were killed and 14 wounded in a gunman’s shooting at a nightclub and nearby streets in the Norwegian capital Oslo on Saturday, Norwegian police said.
A suspect has been arrested who is used as the sole perpetrator, police told reporters.
The crime scene extended from the London pub through neighborhood membership and then close to the street where the suspect was once arrested minutes after the arrest began, police spokesman Tore Barstad instructed newspaper Aftenposten.
“I noticed a man coming with a bag, he picked up a gun and started shooting,” said Olav Roenberg, a journalist for public broadcaster NRK.
It is not immediately clear what the motive behind the attack was.
Oslo is due to reserve its annual Pride parade for later on Saturday.
“Two people have been found dead,” the Oslo police branch said in a tweet.
About 14 people were taken to hospital, several of them with serious injuries, police said.
Photos posted by the newspaper VG, broadcaster NRK, and others confirmed a large gathering of emergency responders outside the London pub, including police and ambulance workers.
Helicopters hovered over central Oslo and then the sirens of ambulances and police cars were heard in all over the city.
Oslo University Medical Institute said it issued a red alert after the shooting.
