During routine checks at the Bhalukpong Police Check Gate on Monday morning, the Bhalukpong police made a significant drug haul, arresting one person and recovering up to 150 kg of cannabis. Approximately 150 kg of cannabis were found during a regular inspection at the Bhalukpong Police Check Gate. According to preliminary findings, the cannabis comes from the West Kameng district’s Kalaktang. It seemed to be headed towards Assam. Under Bhalukpong Police Station Case No. 12/24 and U.S. 20(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, a person by the name of Wary has been taken into custody and is being prosecuted.
The operation was conducted by Officer-in-Charge of the Bhalukpong Police Station, Inspector Thumgon Tali, with assistance from Assistant Sub-Inspector Thutan Tsering and a group of dedicated officials. The crew consisted of Constables Daki Sagro, Langha Peter, Tosa Natung, Honwang Wangsu, and Head Constables Thutan Tashi, Kamshyam Mamai, Gollo Desisow, and Bodo Yamchodu. It was organized by Sudhanshu Dhama, IPS, Superintendent of Police for West Kameng District, and led by Pawan Kumar Yadav, IPS, Additional Superintendent of Police, Bhalukpong.
